Additional Info

This workshop is part of "The Air We Share" Creative Climate Action Residency Programme

Working with artist Christopher Steenson and ceramicist Alena Postnikova, this workshop will explore the air around us by hand building with clay.

Using microscopic reference images of PM2.5 particles that have been captured at Mace Head Atmospheric Monitoring Station, operated by University of Galway, participants in this workshop will be invited to make components for a ceramic wind chime, that will be exhibited as part of a new sound installation Christopher Steenson will create for Galway Arts Centre in August 2025.

The workshop will also give participants the opportunity to make their own pinch pots and other forms, which will be kiln fired for them, which they can keep afterwards.

To reserve a place on the workshop, please contact Westside Resource Centre on 091 528325.
