Fresh from her recent show at the Galway Arts Centre, Ruby will take a theme of walking and the city, exploring the way that places inform our identity. To do this, the group will focus on how we experience public spaces and our surroundings, while noticing their overlooked details and how we can reimagine ways to inhabit them. We will work through a range of materials, using multilayered and experimental responses through photography, video, sound recording, print, collage and cyanotype printing.
Ruby Wallis is a visual artist working with lens-based media, she lectures at The Burren College of Art. Recent exhibitions include Whistling in the Dark, Galway Arts Centre, This Rural, Lismore Castle Arts, Engage, Photomuseum Ireland, Bones in the Attic, The Hugh Lane Gallery, PhotoIreland Festival, and Solas Nua, USA. She is supported by Arts Council Ireland.
