Dominic Thorpe
Dominic Thorpe lives and works in Dublin where he received an MA from the National College of Art and Design in 2006. He works in various media. His performance work is grounded in a belief that presence and experience are crucial to understanding. He explores the potential of artistic process as a means of acknowledging and understanding issues of silence, power and vulnerability central to Irish society. He has developed work exploring body, duration, site and material following engagement with people who have a variety of experiences. These include families and friends of young people who have taken their own lives, immigrants to Ireland, small farmers and survivors of clerical sexual abuse.
He has shown in various contexts including the World Social Forum Brazil 2009, Queen Street RUC Police Station Belfast 2009, Temple Bar Gallery Dublin 2010 and The Royal Hibernian Academy Dublin 2010. He has recently completed residencies and commissions for both the Wicklow County Council 2010 and Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council 2009.
Amanda Coogan
Amanda Coogan is a performance artist living in Dublin, Ireland.
The centrality of Coogan’s practice is durational live performance where powerful live events are fundamental to her videos and photographs. Her expertise lies in her ability to condense an idea to its very essence and communicate it through her body. Coogan’s recent practice has been concentrating on the longitudinal durational performance presented as living installation in the gallery.
Coogan was awarded the Allied Irish Bank’s Art prize in 2004. She has performed and exhibited her work internationally including The Venice Biennale 03, Liverpool Biennial 04, PS1, New York, Galeria Safia, Barcelona, The Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin, Royal Hibernian Academy, Dublin, Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam, Centre Culturel Irlandais, Paris, Trace Gallery, Cardiff, The Litchfield Festival, Litchfield and MARTa Museum, Herford and VISUAL, Centre for Contemporary Art, Carlow. In 2005 Coogan published the first monograph on her practice, A brick in the handbag in conjunction with her solo show at Limerick City Gallery of Art.
IN 2008 Coogan performed for 6 days at the Artists Space gallery New York and in 2009 she made a 17 day performance at the Whitworth Gallery, Manchester for the Manchester International festival’s Marina Abramovic presents… exhibition. She is currently preparing a live performance for the Irish Museum of Modern Art, 6-8pm 18th June and is working towards a longdtudinal durational performance to be shown in Dublin in 2011.
Victoria Mc Cormack
Victoria Mc Cormack
Mc Cormack’s practice is grounded in the physical performative act, and the resonance this achieves between the performer and audience, exploring the body as a site of containment and potential release. Simple intimate acts over a long duration are often used in her work to penetrate the individuals/societies often isolated and dysfunctional aspects such as depression, anxiety and a loss of meaning and using performance/action as a sort of alchemy to investigate transformation.
Mc Cormack is a performer who brings a paradoxical blend of physical fragility and strength, of strong presence combined with dimensions of a cipher, filling up with the performance. McCormack participated in the performance strand STRAYLIGHT/DARKLIGHT 2009, Mill Street Studies, and in TULCA Live 2007. Mc Cormack received her degree in Fine Art from Cluain Mhuire in 2005 she lives and works in Galway.

Ann Maria Healy
Ann Maria Healy is a multi media artist whose practise includes live performance, sound, installation and photography. Her work explores the bodies’ relationship to space and time. In particular focusing on cycles, how they can affect and shape our lives. Ann Maria recieved an Honours Degree in Fine Art from Galway & Mayo Institute of Technology in 2009. she has recently had 2 solo shows Monochrome, Galway Arts Centre, 23rd – 25th November 2009, and Sounding the Endpoint, Basement Project Space, Cork, 10th March – 17th March 2010.
