In Flow is an eight-piece gamelan ensemble that will be using instruments from Java to perform a selection of original works as well as interpretations of traditional Javanese Gamelan pieces. As part of this series of performances, the ensemble will be joined by jazz drummer Matthew Jacobsen and long-time collaborator Gerald Glynn, who will be creating live visual projections.

In Flow – Gamelan Ensemble is supported by That’s Life.
That’s Life is an award-winning arts and personal development program of the Brothers of Charity Services, Galway. People with intellectual disabilities have opportunities to discover and realize their creative potential through working with established artists and participating in a wide range of high-quality arts programs.
Participants in this gamelan music program take part in the co-composition of music pieces and are supported to rehearse and bring their music to the wider public through recordings and public performances. They also have the opportunity to collaborate with professional musicians as part of this process.
In addition, this project is supported on an ongoing basis by GRETB, and this particular series of concerts has been funded by Galway City Council through the Creative Ireland Programme
