Burning Bright 2012
Burning Bright is a series of visual art residencies in Nursing Homes and Care Centres throughout Galway. Individually tailored art workshops are facilitated by professional artists for the residents of the homes and attendees of the day care centres, allowing them to develop and explore their creativity at their own pace.
Burning Bright will be officially opened by Galway City Mayor Hildergarde Naughton and Galway County Mayor Michael Mahon in Galway Arts Centre, 47 Dominick Street on Wednesday 9th May 2012 at 2.00pm. This will be followed by a tea dance and a concert in Nun’s Island Theatre.
Burning Bright is a partnership project between the Arts Council, Galway County Council, Galway City Council and Galway Arts Centre. It is a key project in Galway County Councils Arts & Health programme and there are eleven nursing homes and care centres taking part in the programme this year.
Exhibition runs from 9th – 18th May, 10am – 6pm, Monday – Saturday in Galway Arts Centre, 47 Dominick Street, Galway.
